On March 26, 2026, Odysemus posted in the TNF promotions channel to recognise two members taking on official roles. The post drew 16 reactions, which is a lot for a channel whose usual content is people pretending not to care about titles.
The two pilots could hardly be more different. One has been flying with TNF people for longer than some of the corp has existed. The other was, in Odysemus's words, "a newer addition to TNFed." So here they are side by side, the way the promotion post had them.
Jekktarr, resident Ferengi
How long he has been around: Forever, roughly. Odysemus traced the history: "some from Shadow Ultimatum and Esoteria, some from back in Reeloaded and Cloud Ring, and some from even further beyond."
What he is known for: Through all of it, he has been "most dependably, our resident Ferengi1," a pilot whose "relentless pursuits of Market PvP is unparalleled" and who "lives by the honourable Rules of Acquisition."
The new job: Managing the corporation's buyback program. Members had already watched him do it for weeks before it was official. Odysemus later described the result as "highly competitive and quite possibly the most competitive buyback in the Alliance," and said Jekktarr would be working to take it to an alliance level.
What the citation thanked him for: "your labour, your ambition, your Interdiction skills and your obsession with Seventh Sanctum2."
Side hustle: Unofficial corp video editor. He makes thumbnails and edits for TNF videos and has offered to cut fleet videos for anyone who records their fights. In October 2026 he was first in with screenshots for the new tnfeve.com.
His response:
I'm not obsessed with Seventh Sanctum I am obsessed with PROFITS!!!!!!
You can see him in action in the mentorship Q&A, arriving in a beginner's thread the moment the word "buyback" appeared.
Lex, Krabmaster Field General
How long he has been around: Not long, by TNF standards. That is what makes the promotion interesting.
What he is known for: "A pilot with skill sets that span damn near EVERY aspect of this game. A go-getter. A get-er-doner." Odysemus then tried to find a third word, got stuck somewhere around "A-Dependerabl-er," and settled for growling.
The new job: Krabmaster Field General, a membership role recognising his mining boosts, his "take-charge attitude," and his help for every miner and ratter in the corp. He has since put the title to work running corp ice fleets with fleet names like "Ice to see you, to see you Ice."
What the citation thanked him for: Serving the membership daily, "a staple in Comms, always ready to take a fight, send a fit, critique an engagement, all in a way that is jovial and supportive." Plus, inexplicably, "your obsession with the Moose Man."
Side hustle: Killboard menace. Six days after the promotion, on April 1, Kloria congratulated him and Judas Aralius "for crushing the kill contest this month!" That post drew 17 reactions, one more than the promotion.
His own summary, a week later:
I'm a Crab that pvps
Same post, same point
A market goblin and a mining general who wins kill contests. One with years of history, one with a few months. What they had in common was that they kept doing the work before anyone gave it a name, and the corp noticed. Lex's story did not stop there either: by June he was a Director.
Read Odysemus's closing line again and it applies to both: "We are lucky to have these two taking on official roles within the Corp."
Jekktarr, Lex Ashwari-Thrace: congratulations, belatedly, in public.
Notes
The Ferengi are the Star Trek species whose entire culture runs on profit. Their 285 Rules of Acquisition include gems like "Once you have their money, you never give it back." We are told the buyback is nicer than that.↩
Why Seventh Sanctum made it into an official promotion citation has never been explained to the newsroom. Jekktarr wishes the record to show that he is not obsessed with them. He is obsessed with PROFITS. See above.↩
