Operation: corp roam, ESS raid Date: February 3, 2026 FC: Pict1on Result: success, by the FC's own account
Background
The Encounter Surveillance System1 is a tempting target: a pile of bounty money sitting in space, waiting for someone bold enough to grab it. On February 3, 2026, TNF went and got it.
Timeline
Morning. The ping went out from Pict1on: a corp roam that night, plus "a special corp operation tomorrow."
Form-up. Odysemus followed up as the fleet came together: "Corp fleet is up folks! Get in and come play!"
The roam had an official name. It is one of those Icelandic-flavoured jokes that does not survive translation onto a public website. Its results do.
After. Pict1on's report was short and very happy:
was a success! Over a billion in stolen ESS loot secured, and a healthy amount of killmails to show for our efforts.
Next evening. The second half of the plan, a corp op Pict1on introduced in true FC fashion: "We had our dessert yesterday, now its time to eat some veggies."
Where the loot went
This is the part worth underlining. The ISK did not go into anyone's wallet. It went toward replacing members' losses on corp fleets. One good night of PvP paid for a lot of future nights of PvP.
It fits a broader TNF habit. Later that month Odysemus reminded newer members that loot picked up in home defence fights goes into a dedicated container and toward ship replacement. Members fight for each other, and the spoils pay for the next fight.
Lessons learned (previously)
This was not TNF's first ESS heist. In September 2025 Pict1on and the Blue Coats "science division" ran a series of experimental ESS raids and wrote them up as mock military dossiers. The first went badly. The second, "New Dawn 2," came home with 14 kills, 650 million ISK in ESS bonds and around a billion in rare modules. Read the Shadow Talon after-action for the full dossier treatment.
By February 2026 the lessons had clearly stuck.
Assessment
ESS raiding is simple in principle and hard in practice. A fast gang has to get into hostile space, hold the ESS long enough for the loot to unlock, and deal with whoever answers the alarm. That takes scouts, a disciplined fleet and an FC who knows when to stay and when to leave. Pict1on has been refining that judgement for years (his story), and nights like this are the payoff.
Small-gang content that is fun, profitable and pays for everyone's ship losses is the holy grail of corp PvP. TNF's FCs keep finding it.
Recommendation: more dessert.
Notes
An in-space structure in nullsec that holds a share of local bounty payouts. Anyone who can hold it long enough can help themselves.↩
